The Monroeville Public Safety Training Center (MPSTC) is finalized and is in operation. A tremendous amount of excavation and work has set the way for the new training grounds. Thanks to all that have been involved up to this point.
The joint effort between the Municipality, the Police Department and the Fire Departments have cleared the way for the building of a Public Safety Training Center in Monroeville. Due to the growing needs for training and education in the Fire, EMS and Police fields, Monroeville decided to take a huge step ahead and personally take care of the needs of its own.
The Monroeville Public Safety Training Center broke ground in September of 2002 and is expected to be a major contributor to public, police, fire, and EMS education for many years to follow.
The training center offers the following:
- A one, two and four story burn building/tower
- Vehicle rescue pads
- Two drafting pits
- Confined space training simulation
- Paved Emergency Vehicle Driver Training Course
- Classrooms / Education facility
- Three police shooting ranges
The MPSTC has partnered up with CCAC for EMT Education, WPAHS-Forbes Regional Campus for other EMS and Paramedic Education, FBI for specialized police training, and the Allegheny County Fire Academy for fire education showing that the educational and general growth potential for this facility is constantly increasing.
